ORCHESTRE DE MACHINES À ÉCRIRE is a participatory music performance with typewriters, based on a graphic score dedicated to Alice Rivaz. An orchestra of typewriters has been
formed with a group of nine people following a precise score composed by K&A. The performance includes a model of the famous Olivetti Lettera 32 that Alice Rivaz herself used, transformed into a musical instrument by Théo Soulié as well as an orchestra of 20 typewriters.

The workshop:
ORCHESTRE DE MACHINES À ÉCRIRE is a playful, literary, and musical multidisciplinary project that introduces students to the works of Swiss writer Alice Rivaz while also developing their collective musical skills.
During the workshop you get to:
- Get acquainted with the Swiss writer Alice Rivaz.
- Rehearse and perform a graphic score inspired by her work, using a typewriter as a musical instrument.
- Develop skills in following a conductor and experience the dynamics of an orchestra rehearsal.
- Foster creativity and musicality using an analog machine.
- Work on rhythms and timbres.
- Discover the hidden percussive sounds within a typewriter.
